TANGUIS AND PIMA

Cotton is a soft, staple fiber that grows in a form known as a boll around the seeds of the cotton plant, a shrub native to tropical and subtropical regions around the world, including the Americas, India and Africa.
However, not all cottons are created equal. As with coffee, cashmere or fine wine, grades and qualities of cotton vary.
Peruvian Cotton cultivated since Incan times, still covers seventeen distinct species to this day, of which Alqo Wasi use the 2 best types. Each one holds excellent properties of quality, softness and length
Tanguis Cotton is a unique variety of cotton that grows in Peru's Cañete Valley on the Pacific coast. Long fibered, very soft, and takes dyes beautifully.
Pima Cotton is an ultralong staple (1 5/8") len-gth cotton native to the Piura coastal region of Northern Peru. It is classified as a precious fiber owing to its extremely soft hand and the scarcity of the harvest. It is the world's finest pima.
